This stove is very good

An excellent, low profile stove. Works well and has not in last five years let me down: (as usual) piezo ignition systems simply do not work.
I cut off the piezo ignition to save weight.

I love this stove!

I cannot fault this stove. It folds away very compact, it’s sturdy despite its size and it’s powerful.

Brilliant little stove

Really impressed with this fab little stove. Wanted some compact for taking on mini breaks/days out. Plenty of space in the box for a lighter to live there. Very stable on the ground/table too.

I hate Piezo Sparkers

This was a purchase that was forced upon me. I normally use small stoves like the Coleman Fyrelite and similar, but since the price of small gas canisters went ridiculous and using a large canister results in the burner being jacked up almost to the top of any windshield you may using, I thought a change was necessary.
Over all this is a good basic piece of kit, and all the better for being basic. This does NOT have an integral piezo-sparker which in my book is a good thing due to piezo-sparkers main function being to fail. An empty disposable flint lighter will serve you better.
My major criticism of the stove would be that despite being stable on it's three feet on a flat surface, a little more ground clearance would have been nice. A bit more care and preparation may be needed before use because even a pebble under the centre can cause a wobble.
I don't think it is as powerful as the one it's replacing and it makes a hell of a noise when turned up, but it's compact and a clean design.
If I manage to wear it out I expect to get another without considering alternatives..
4 stars is conservative as the ground clearance gripe is maybe a bit mean. If you have any problems with this you have probably made them yourself.

Best stove ever!

I am delighted with this stove. Immediately saw it in the store, and knew it was the one I wanted. Not expensive, and because it is down on the ground, it it incredibly stable. The sales assistant in the Edinburgh store was hugely helpful recommending which fuel would suit my purposes, and explaining how to use the stove as it was quite different to my last one - he even owned it himself. Delighted with my purchase, the stove is incredibly powerful and heats food and kettles amazingly fast without needing much power at all! Handy carry case to keep it safe in transit also. Highly recommend.

Great value

Wow . I was amazed at the quality of this stove.. I'm a truck driver so use it to cook all my meals and boil my kettle on 5 nights a week. Its compact and lightweight and is extremely stable for its size. So much better than the square stoves. Id recommend this item for anyone.

Lasted 2 years

Used probably on average at least once a week for the last two years and very reliable. Very stable and easy to use.
Now leaks when I connect a cartridge but not from the seal where it screws on. Clearly a non repairable product as all Vango can suggest is replacing the rubber washer.
That said for less regular use would be an excellent product .

Great portable burner

Great Burner, comes in a hard plastic case ideal for transport. I like that the burner it's self does not attached to the top of the bottle so safer for Scout, plus its easier to protect from the wind.

Fantastic small burner

I am so pleased with this little stove. It is powerful, easy to use and folds up into a box. The legs are a little stiff but it is a sturdy little piece of kit.

Great little unit

Bought as an additional stove for a long term camp, this tiny but effective stove was immediately a success. The low profile made it very stable and the burner spread the flame well so no hot spots on the base of the pans.
One star deducted for the pan supports/legs being very stiff and th lack of integral igniter. I built in windbreak would improve it, too.

Excellent

Brilliant wee burner took it with us when doing the NC 500 and worked superb in some pretty horrid conditions like 6 minutes to boil a litre of water very impressive!!

Great Value For Money

Good advice given from the staff. Bought this stove to get my lads off on their DofE.
They said it was great to use and very stable also very quick to boil a liter of water.
Would reccomend this stove.

Good value

Got this as it would be more stable than the stove that connects directly to the gas bottle, definitely is more stable in use. Heats water etc up very quickly.

fantastic little stove

I recently brought one of these due to my trusty stove that I had for a while just not being very well anymore, so I went into go outdoors and had a look at the stoves they had and decided on this one, on its first use I cooked up some food and it was fantastic it burned very very well and cooked the food in a good time, I have since used it a further dozen times for both cooking food and boiling water and it is as good as I first thought, it being low to the ground make it a very stable platform even when its on uneven ground it is also easy to shield the stove from wind, it burns very very well all the way to the bottom of a gas bottle, wish I had brought one earlier.

Because it sits so low to the ground just be aware of where you are lighting it and your not going to cause a fire with dry grass or similar.

Great little back packing stove

I bought this due to having to return a Camping Gaz stove that broke on first use. The stove is well engineered and packs away into the supplied small plastic transit box. Using a C250 cannister will boil an army mess tin of water in no time. Use it with a wind shield when on the hills though. Really impressed. Will be buying another for my boy to use at some point.

Good value burner

Bought this to save space when on my motorbike, very stable compared to other bottle mounted burners, the little gas bottle(C100) lasted about 15 times kettle boils, packs up nice and neat with no fuss
