I have a few different stoves, but this little fella gets the most use for food cooking. Super easy to use. Quite stable too so long as you are realistic with pot weight.

Used this stove daily for several months on an overland round the world trip with gas/petrol. Main problem is heat is concentrated to area size of golf ball. You must use a pan that disperses heat.

I’ve had MSR kit for years, it’s the bees knees. Might feel a little pricey but if you want kit that won’t let you down and just keeps on doing it’s job then it’s well worth the money.
I use it regularly throughout it the year and it just keeps on going. Added the dragonfly for its simmering abilities and the extra heat control. It doesn’t disappoint, no more burnt garlic bread. Fantastic piece of kit.

This is the first liquid fuelled stove i have ever had and is better than i expected you can run it of petrol or diesel giving you lots of chose for fuel were ever you are.

I've owned two of these since 1998, I've had my money's worth time and time again. Been around the world twice and cooked with anything that burns. Got the funniest of looks pulling into a petrol station in Malaysia and filling up two bottles.... Riding a mountain bike admittedly. It's so versatile, always there for a quick brew and then stashed back in the pan which it fits into like a glove.
Put it on the shelf for 10 years and just moved it from house to house. Dug it out for our first family camping trip and fired up and resumed duty where it left off.

19 years later I can walk into a shop and still buy all the spares (not that it really needed them) try that with your Coleman. If your questioning the price then I'll say only this. 'you only need to buy quality once'

I'm an ex royal marine and of 12 years of service and have currently been out 10 years. I've only ever had 2 stoves "msr whisperlite" and "the msr dragonfly". The whisperlite is an indestructible bit of kit, i bought it when I joined the marines and used it all through my years as a marine. Thats 12 years of 10 operational tours including 2 of Iraq and 2 afghan. This stove burns any thing flammable. True life saver litrally. When I left the forces msr brought out the new dragonfly. Which I bought and for the last 10years it's seen more mountains on every quarter of the earth than my whisperlite. And boy what a hoofingbit of kit..

To avoid getting fuel on your hands, before turning fuel tap off, flip the bottle over so it faces the other way.
What happens is that the fuel pick up on the pump comes out of the fuel and once the stove has used the fuel in the fuel line, the air gets pushed out through the stove and de-pressurises the fuel bottle and thus preventing the "fuel on hands" problem.
